Justin Melnick, executive chef at the Terrace at the Charlotte Inn in Edgartown, has put together a summer sommelier series, inviting some of New England’s top wine experts to share their knowledge with restaurant guests during dinner. The sommeliers will conduct wine classes with the restaurant’s staff during the day.
The series begins this weekend Friday, July 18, and Saturday, July 19 with guest sommelier Lorenzo Savona of PortaVino. Mr. Savona was named Boston’s best sommelier by Food and Wine Magazine.
The following weekend, Friday, July 25, and Saturday, July 26, features Fred Mullins of Adonna Imports. Mr. Mullins brings more than 20 years of hands-on experience to the table.
The series concludes on Friday, August 15, and Saturday, August 16, with David Mitchell of Mise Wines, telling stories and offering wine suggestiosn based on his travels among vineyards in France and Italy.
Reservations are required for all dinners, including the sommelier series.
